About this course
In this hands-on course, you'll learn how to build and deploy Apache Flink CEP examples.
Working in a Ververica BYOC workspace, you'll deploy the Java JAR, connecting to a provided Kafka cluster to process transactions and output alerts.
To receive a badge for completing the course, you'll then create your own CEP job, deploy it to Ververica, and verify alerts have been created.
What you'll learn
- Building Flink Java JARs with shaded Kafka dependencies
- Deploy Java JARs to Ververica clusters
- Explore Flink CEP documentation
- Query Kafka topics with Flink SQL using Session Clusters
Prerequisites
1. You will need access to a Ververica cluster to complete this course. The following options are available:
- EASIEST! Request access to a workspace in a Ververica Academy BYOC cluster by contacting academy@ververica.com with your requested start date. We will provide you with workspace access for one week and answer any questions as you complete the course!
- You can use your own BYOC or Self-Managed Ververica Platform Cluster, but you’ll also need access to a Kafka cluster.
2. Intellij for executing Java 17 code locally and building JAR files.
Completion
To receive your badge for course completion, you must submit:
